I’m Cameron Joiner, a resident in counseling. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William and Mary, and I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults both in private practice and nonprofit settings. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I use a trauma-informed, person-centered, strengths-based, feminist approach in my counseling, and I have experience using cognitive behavioral therapy as well.
Providing a warm, safe, and open environment during therapy is very important to me. I believe that the most important thing I can do for you is to help you with whatever challenges you are experiencing while supporting you in cultivating your strengths and sense of self-understanding. Seeking therapy can be an intimidating thing, and I have immense respect for the commitment you are making to your growth and healing. I am excited to hear from you and to begin your journey toward mental wellness!
