Doctoral Psychology Extern
Romy Sobol is a doctoral extern pursuing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University.
Romy strives to create a safe and empowering space where clients feel supported as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful change. She approaches her work with empathy, humility, curiosity, and openness, and views therapy as a collaborative process where clients can gain insight into how past experiences may shape present patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating, and cultivate greater agency in their lives. Her approach is tailored to each client’s needs and goals, integrating elements of CBT and DBT alongside insight oriented work. Romy has experience working with children, college students, and adults facing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges. She also has an interest in working with couples and helping them navigate relationship challenges and transitions. She enjoys working with clients across the lifespan and supporting individuals navigating identity development, relationship changes, cultural adjustment, and other life stressors.
Romy brings a multicultural perspective to her work and a deep appreciation for the ways culture and identity influence how individuals understand themselves and relate to others. She values creating an inclusive therapeutic space where clients from diverse backgrounds feel respected, understood, and
empowered.
Romy works under the supervision of Dr. Dee Majko.
